American rapper Daniel Hernandez, also known as 6ix9ine, was hospitalized on Tuesday after a group of men attacked him in the bathroom of a south Florida gym.
According to his lawyer Lance Lazzaro, the 26-year-old suffered facial injuries and bruises, TMZ reported Wednesday.
Lazzaro told TMZ that the rapper was in the bathroom of an LA Fitness gym when several men suddenly attacked him without warning.
The lawyer said 6ix9ine tried to fight off the combatants, but there were too many of them, beating him to a pulp before fleeing.
He also noted that the rapper did not have a security guard with him at the time of the attack.Gym staff who heard the commotion immediately notified their manager.
The police were then called to the scene, and he was transported to a hospital by ambulance.
According to information from the hospital, the rapper suffered injuries to his jaw, ribs, and back.
