Barcelona took a giant step towards their first La Liga title since 2019 with a 2-1 comeback win against Real Madrid in El Clásico to extend their lead at the top of the table to 12 points with 12 games remaining.
The first 10 minutes were completely chaotic, with Madrid scoring a goal after just 5 seconds, followed by three big Barça chances before the sixth minute and Madrid’s completely fortuitous opening when Vinicius Junior’s cross into the box was met by Ronald Araujo headed and went into the own goal.
Barcelona finally found their breakthrough right before halftime via Sergi Roberto, scoring his first goal in an El Clasico, Roberto took advantage of a ball pinging around the box, driving it past a helpless Thibaut Courtois. Then Barcelona withstood waves of Real Madrid pressure before Kessie called game in stoppage time.
