Former US President Trump has been indicted on federal charges stemming from a months-long investigation by special counsel Jack Smith.
Trump is listed in the unsealed indictment on at least seven counts of obstruction of justice, conspiracy and illegal possession of classified government material. He is scheduled to appear in federal court in Miami on Tuesday.
Trump himself announced the charges on social media platform Truth Social. Federal prosecutors briefed Trump’s lawyers about the charges just before the indictment was released, according to people familiar with the matter.

Trump said he has “been summoned to appear at the Federal Courthouse in Miami on Tuesday, at 3 PM.
” This is the second time Trump has been indicted this year. Trump pleaded not guilty in April after being charged by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in the first degree.
