Nigeria secured a 3-0 victory over Ghana in the women’s round-robin Pool A at the 2024 BNP Paribas World Team Cup wheelchair tennis African qualification held in Abuja on Thursday.

During the initial group match of the round robin, Omisore and Foluke Shodeinde claimed victories in the singles matches, while Olusegun Kemi and Shodeinde emerged victorious in the doubles event against Ghana’s Stacy Konadu Mensah and Bridget Nartey.

Shodeinde clinched her victory in two consecutive sets, winning 6-3, 6-2, while Omisore replicated the success against Bridget Nartey with a score of 1-6, 6-0, 6-1.

In the women’s doubles, both Olusegun Kemi and Shodeinde defeated Ghana’s Stacy Konadu Mensah and Bridget Nartey with a score of 6-2, 6-0. The Nigerian team is set to face Morocco in their second group match of the round-robin competition on Friday.
