The Senator representing Ogun West and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, Senator Olamilekan Adeola, has urged residents of Ogun State to continue supporting the leadership of President Bola Tinubu’s administration as it remains committed to reducing the hardship Nigerians are currently going through, assuring of better days in no distant future.
This is just as the senator, fondly called Yayi also donated over N50m and 50 bags of rice to members of his Senatorial district comprising five local governments as his show of love to the constituents on the occasion of Christmas.
Each of the 59 wards in the Senatorial district received a sum of N500,000 and 10 bags of rice for the celebration of Christmas.
This is in addition to various sub-groups like the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, the League of Imams, Traditional Rulers, Baales, and others who received donations of cash, rice, cows, and hampers from the Senator.
Speaking in a statement sent to journalists on Monday, Senator Adeola said his motive for the gesture was to ensure everyone has a memorable Christmas notwithstanding the challenging times the nation is going through.
He said “Since I joined politics and served in public office as a legislator for over 20 years, it is a thing of joy to reach out to my people in various forms to ensure they enjoy each seasonal celebration every year.
“It is part of my effective representation of my people and by God’s grace, this will continue in the years ahead.
“And like I have always said and promised, my people should expect better days in the years ahead as my promise of turning our Senatorial district into a “small London” is not a joke but an aspiration I am assiduously working on with other like-minds to achieve.
“The administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is also leaving no stone unturned to ensure that whatever pains we are going through as a nation is taken care of through the “Renewed Hope Agenda”.
