A mother of six, Love Nwanyanwu, has petitioned the Police in Rivers State that her brother-in-law, who is the leader of Etche Legislative Assembly, Blackson Nwanyanwu, attempted to kill her.
Mrs Nwanyanwu in her petition at the Human Rights Desk of the State Police Command said Blackson and three others attempted to kill her on Sunday at Omualu, Etche.
The woman with a swollen face spoke with newsmen yesterday. She called on the law enforcement agencies to ensure that the councillor representing ward twelve in the Etche Legislative Assembly does not go unpunished. When our correspondent contacted Mr Blackson Nwanyanwu on the matter, he replied with a text message saying, “Some of you will meet me in court”.
Meanwhile the Leader of Etche Legislative Assembly, Blackson Nwanyanwu, who was accused of assaulting his sister-in-law says he doesn’t regret his action.Blackson, in a telephone conversation with the in-law’s daughter, said he had tolerated the sister-in-law for a long time.
He did not say in the audio the exact thing that led to the disagreement but admitted slapping the woman.
