MINNA, NIGER STATE – A brazen daylight robbery on Shiroro Road has left residents in shock after gunmen escaped with over ₦10 million in cash and a victim’s vehicle. The incident occurred on Friday, March 6, 2026, around 3:00 p.m. in the heart of the Niger State capital.
Details of the Shiroro Road Attack
The victim reportedly withdrew the massive sum from a commercial bank before the criminals began trailing him. Local sources suggest the funds were a large client payment. As the victim reached a busy section of Shiroro Road, near the popular Iya Femi Restaurant, the attackers intercepted his Toyota Camry.Eyewitnesses claim the robbers monitored the victim’s movement from the bank premises. They quickly overpowered him, seized the cash, and fled the scene in his car.
Police Confirm Investigation and Recovered Vehicle
The Niger State Police Command confirmed the attack through spokesperson Wasiu Abiodun. According to the official statement, the robbers abandoned their own Toyota Corolla during the getaway.
”The suspects trailed a Toyota Camry from a bank to Shiroro Road,” Abiodun stated. “They robbed the victim of a sum of money and his vehicle.”

While some social media reports suggest the victim resisted and even shot one of the attackers, the police have not yet confirmed any injuries or exchange of gunfire.
