The US Attorney General has said that Joe Biden’s son Hunter would now be investigated by a special counsel with expanded authority.
Meanwhile Biden Attorney General Merrick Garland has Appointed U.S. Attorney David Weiss as special counsel in the Hunter Biden criminal investigation.
Weiss will be in charge of the “ongoing investigation” of President Joe Biden‘s son, as well as “any other matters that arose or may arise from that investigation,” according to a statement from the Justice Department.
Weiss, who was already in charge of the Hunter Biden investigation and is headquartered in Delaware, wanted to be appointed special counsel on Tuesday, and Garland agreed it was “in the public interest” to do so, according to the attorney general.
