Enyimba Football Club extended their record as the most successful club in the Nigerian League by winning the Nigerian Professional Football League title in the 2022/23 season.
The team coached by former Nigeria international Finidi George won their 9th league title after a 1-1 draw against Rivers United.
The Peoples Elephant won the title on goal difference after tying on nine points with Rivers and Remo Stars.
The points shared with Rivers United in their final game of the Super Six play-off at the Mobalaji Johnson Stadium on Sunday secured Rivers the league.
Enyimba drew three and won just two of their five games in the championship play-off.With the victory, Eyimba and Remo Stars will represent Nigeria at the CAF Champions League next season.
