Brazilian Alex Pereira scored a fifth and final round knockout victory over Israel Adesanya to become the new UFC middleweight champion in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Pereira emerged for round four looking exhausted from the grappling exchanges and seemed to be on his way to a decision defeat when the unthinkable happened in the final round.
The Brazilian landed punches that took Adesanya down before referee Marc Goddard stopped the contest.
