Popular Nigerian TikTok singer and vocalist Ifunanya Nwangene, widely known by her stage name Nanyah (or Nanyah_music), has tragically passed away at the age of 25 after being bitten by a snake at her residence in Abuja.

The incident occurred in the early hours of January 31, 2026, when she was reportedly bitten while on her bed. She drove herself to hospitals seeking urgent treatment, but succumbed to the venom, with reports indicating a critical lack of anti-venom availability at the facilities she visited. Known for her powerful soprano voice, she gained recognition through classical covers, Catholic hymns, jazz, RnB, and soul performances shared on TikTok, as well as choir work and an appearance on The Voice Nigeria.
The shocking death has left the Abuja music community and her online followers in deep grief, with many expressing disbelief on social media over the sudden loss of the rising talent often called the “Soprano Queen.” Following the incident, snake experts reportedly discovered cobras in her apartment, raising questions about the circumstances.
No official statement has been released by her family yet, but tributes continue to pour in for the gifted artist whose promising career was cut short. May her soul rest in peace.
