Yesterday evening, some set of Fulani Terrorists Herdsmen Disguised in Army and customs uniforms stormed Igangan community, Ibarapa area of Oyo State.
According to Africhome News Team sources they came with 4 military Hilux and started shooting at innocent people of the area. According to the information reaching us from a reliable source, one person died of stray bullets in Igangan.
However, the gunmen were confronted and resisted by some Igangan indigenes, vigilantes and security forces. This made the gunmen flee and headed forth to other parts of Ibarapa land shooting sporadically. One citizen of Ayete, the headquarters of Ibarapa North Local government, died as a result of their shooting.
On getting to Igboora, the headquarters of the Ibarapa Central Local government, the gunmen also engaged in a gun duel with the Amotekun corps. However, the commandant of the Amotekun corps was killed during the gun duel that lasted for about 20 minutes.
The Police Public Relations Officer for the state, Adewale Osifeso, could not be reached on his mobile phone at the time of filing this report, as he did not pick calls made to his line.
