Fabio Carvalho scored the impressive – and controversial – goal in the 98th minute as Liverpool from behind beat Newcastle 2-1 in a thrilling night at Anfield.
Just a day after his 20th birthday, substitute Carvalho was the fastest to react to score from close range in injury time, when the allowed five minutes turned into nine, surprising Newcastle coach Eddie Howe on the pitch line.
Alexander Isak’s opening goal for Newcastle was nullified by Roberto Firmino’s equalizer, and it looks like Liverpool are headed for a result that could leave them nine points behind leaders Arsenal before super sub Carvalho scored to make 2-1 at 98th.
