Justin Trudeau, the Prime Minister of Canada, announced his divorce from his wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, on Wednesday.
Justin and his wife announced their divorce in a joint statement on their respective Instagram pages, stating they had “many meaningful and difficult conversations” before making their choice.
The couple requested privacy out of concern for the children’s well-being.
According to reports, Justin and his wife Sophie met as children in Montreal and reconnected at a charity event in 2003. They married in 2005 and have three children together – two sons and a girl.
