There was drama at the Federal High Court in Lagos on Tuesday, July 25, as operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) and officials of the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCS) clashed over the custody of Godwin Emefiele.
The suspended Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) was arraigned before the vacation judge, Justice Nicholas Oweibo, by the DSS for alleged illegal possession of fir£arms and amm¥nition.
However, after the hearing the DSS and NCS were captured squabbling over who gets custody of the embattled suspended CBN governor.
DSS rearrested him after a tussle with officials of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos.
Amid the cl@sh, Emefiele’s lawyers “reluctantly allowed the DSS disobey court order and take custody of their client” to avoid a g¥n b@ttle.
At exactly 03:03pm, DSS operatives led the suspended CBN governor out of the courtroom into their waiting vehicle.
