A Texas man is seeking $1 million in damages through a lawsuit for the “criminal act of murder” filed against three women who helped his ex-wife obtain abortion pills to terminate a pregnancy in July 2022.
After the historic Roe vs. Wade overturn, Texas made it illegal to “aid or abet” abortions in the state.
The man’s wife is not a defendant in the case, as she is exempt from criminal or civil liability under state law.
The three defendants sent links to websites where the woman could buy abortion pills and helped deliver them to her home, according to screenshots of messages.
