Kwara state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has lauded efforts of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to reposition Lagos state through infrastructure renewal projects that are centred on citizen’s welfare.
AbdulRazaq spoke on Tuesday, December 19, during the official opening of the Ikeja Redline Overpass.
He praised the dexterity and vigour of the Sanwo-Olu’s administration towards changing the socio-economic landscape of the state.
According to him, Lagos has been divinely blessed in the last 20 years with quality and outstanding leaders ‘who made the state to remain at the forefront’.
He said: “It is another bold signatory project of the Lagos state government as this adds to the previous ones that has been built and commissioned. What we are seeing here today supports the fact that development is a process, not a destination.
“Between 1999 and now, we have seen consistent and impressive improvement in infrastructure development across all sectors in Lagos state, including those that support mass transit others are bold testimonies to this. But particularly worthy of note is the huge advantage of policy consistency, and that is what we are seeing Lagos today, consistency and progression in government.
“This is largely to the legacy of President Bola Tinubu. In essence, Lagos has been a beneficiary of a progressive vision built around people’s welfare. Regardless of party affiliation and individual differences, developmental agenda should be people-focused as being done in Lagos state.”
The governor maintained that successive administrations in Lagos have built on one another’s successes and exchange good projects that have strengthened Lagos, thus making it one of the largest economies in the world today.
He added that most of the successful leaders today in Nigeria have spent time in Lagos and have applied those successes in other states of the federation.
He said: “The Ikeja Redline Overpass has justified the time and resources spent in executing the project.”
