The Duke of Sussex has been unsuccessful in his attempt to reverse a prior decision that reduced his security status after stepping down from his role as a working member of the royal family.

According to the High Court, this decision was deemed neither illegal nor unreasonable.

Prince Harry intends to appeal this latest ruling and “remains hopeful for a fair outcome,” as stated by a legal representative.

His legal team contended that the process leading to the decision had been unjust, a claim refuted by the High Court ruling.

Prince Harry initiated the legal action after being informed that he would no longer receive the same level of publicly-funded security during his visits to the country.

The Home Office stated that security arrangements for Prince Harry’s visits to the UK would be determined on a case-by-case basis, differing from the automatic security provided to full-time working members of the royal family.

During the legal proceedings, which addressed security arrangements for senior figures, much of the discussion occurred behind closed doors in December. The ruling, issued by retired High Court judge Sir Peter Lane on Wednesday, upholds the previous decision.

This outcome may impact the Duke’s future visits to the UK, as he had previously expressed challenges in bringing his family to the country due to the reduced security measures.
