Special Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Aloy Ejimakor, says that the authority to release Kanu lies with President Bola Tinubu or the Attorney General of the Federation, not the Service Chiefs.
In a post via his X account, Ejimakor stated that Tinubu’s National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, also lacks the power to release Kanu, urging those misrepresenting the matter as a security issue to desist.
This development comes as the Southeast governor’s plan to meet with President Tinubu to discuss a political solution for Kanu’s release.
