Yevgeny Prigozhin, the leader of the mercenary company Wagner, has died in the Russian jet accident along with the other nine passengers, according to the BBC.
Earlier, a Wagner-linked Telegram channel Grey Zone reported that the jet was shot down by air defences in Tver region, north of Moscow.
According to the TASS news agency, the Embraer aircraft carrying seven passengers and three crew members was traveling from Moscow to St. Petersburg.

In June, Prigozhin staged an unsuccessful uprising against the Russian military.
