At least 100 wedding guests were killed in Iraq after fireworks fired off in celebration sparked a fire that engulfed a crowded venue.
Authorities have warned that the death toll could increase further, as 150 people were injured at a Christian wedding in Nineveh province, northern Iraq.

They also claimed that flammable building materials played a role in the accident.
There was no official confirmation on what caused the incident, but footage from the Kurdish television news channel Rudaw showed fireworks shooting up from the event’s floor and lighting a chandelier on fire.
Survivors arrived at local hospitals in bandages, receiving oxygen as their families lingered around halls and outdoors as personnel organized more oxygen cylinders.Children were among those burned.

Other footage seen on local media networks appeared to show the bride and groom on the dance floor when the fire broke out Tuesday night, stunned by the sight of the blazing wreckage.
