AFCON FINAL: Hosts Ivory Coast staged one of the most remarkable comebacks in Africa Cup of Nations history to become African champions for the third time, defeating Nigeria 2-1 in Abidjan.
Nigeria captain and former Watford centre-back William Troost-Ekong put the Super Eagles ahead against the run of play at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium after 38 minutes.

Franck Kessie leaped at the far post to meet Simon Adingra’s corner to square the score (61).
However, Sebastien Haller met another Adingra cross to delightfully flick home the winner (81) for his most vital contribution in an Ivory Coast jersey.
The former West Ham striker, who overcame testicular cancer in 2022 and will now go down in history among all Ivorians following their third AFCON victory.
