FC Bayern have appointed Vincent Kompany as their new head coach.
The 38-year-old has signed a contract with the German record champions until June 30, 2027. The former Belgium international was most recently the manager of FC Burnley, an English Premier League club.

FC Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen: “Everyone at the club agrees that Vincent Kompany is the appropriate coach for FC Bayern, and we are really excited to work with him. Max Eberl and Christoph Freund have worked relentlessly and painstakingly to locate a coach who can guide FC Bayern to success while also developing the club with new ideas. Vincent Kompany embodies the unity and team spirit that we require.”

FC Bayern head coach Vincent Kompany: “I’m excited about the challenge of FC Bayern. It’s an honor to be able to work for this club, as FC Bayern is a true international football institution.
As a coach, you must embody your character traits: I enjoy having the ball and being creative, but we must also be aggressive and courageous on the field. I’m now looking forward to the fundamentals: collaborating with the guys and forming a team. Once the foundation is established, success will follow.
