Mexico erupts in Cartel Violence as Son of ‘El Chapo’ captured Days before President Joe Biden is due to visit Mexico.
Authorities took down Ovidio Guzman, son of Sinaloa cartel leader Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman who is currently jailed in the United States.
Cartel gunmen blocked roads in Culiacan and attempted to rescue the 32-year-old amid gun battles with security forces.
Authorities reported seven security force personnel killed, 29 people wounded – including 8 civilians. Guzman was flown to Mexico City, despite cartel attacks on Culiacan airport, one of which hit an Aeromexico flight which was due to fly to the capital.
