An unforeseen accident at Bikers Carnival in Calabar, Cross Rivers state, south-south Nigeria has Left almost 14 people dead and 24 others seriously injured and hospitalized after a drunk driver ran over spectators watching the carnival.
According to Cross River Police Spokesperson Irene Ugbo, a drunk driver was on high speed, lost control and run into crowd of people watching Biker’s Carnival
The suspected drunk driver has been arrested and taken into custody as investigation commences, Police superintendent Ugbo added.
