The Federal High Court in Port Harcourt today indicted 16 foreigners suspected of being oil thieves.
They were arrested on board the super-large crude oil carrier MT Heroic Idun, suspected of being involved in illegal activities.

The crew is made up of Indian, Sri Lankan, Filipino, Brazilian, and Polish nationals.

They were arraigned on a three-count charge bordering on false pretense, attempted crude oil theft, and piracy among others.
The suspects have pleaded not guilty. The presiding Judge, Justice Turaki Muhammed after listening to the application of the prosecution lawyers on the amended charges ordered that they be remanded inside the vessel.
Africhome gather that the case was adjourned to tomorrow in order to allow another ten foreign nationals take their plea.
