Sonia, the daughter of former Senate Vice President Ike Ekwelemadu, has asked the public to donate her kidney.
The young woman whose parents are now facing organ harvesting charges in the UK made her plea on her own Instagram page on Monday.

She said: “I, Sonia Ekweremadu, appeal to the public to come to my aid and save my life. “Diagnosed with FSGS Nephrotic Syndrome, a rare kidney disease. I quit my postgraduate studies at Newcastle University in 2019.
My family fought to save my life and took me to various hospitals, but the illness persisted and worsened. I kept doing it. I live today by the special grace of God.
I am currently in London, UK on dialysis for 5 hours 3- times a week.

This is a burden on my family as I am ineligible for the NHS due to my immigration status.
“The charges my parents are currently facing in London are directly related to my illness and complicate matters for me and my family.
“In the above case. I appeal to anyone who might like to volunteer to support me with a kidney donation in the name of God.
