Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari has promised to consider what he called “heavy” request for an unconditional release of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who was kidnapped in Kenya and extra ordinary rendition to Nigeria is currently standing trial for treason charge’s, and currently detained by Department of State Services (DSS).

The President made the promise Friday while receiving a group under the aegis of Highly Respected Igbo Greats, led by First Republic parliamentarian and Minister of Aviation, Chief Mbazulike Amaechi, at State House, Abuja.

Buhari told the 93-year-old statesman that: “You’ve made an extremely difficult demand on me as leader of this country.
