Ivorian TV host Yves de M’Bella has been handed a 12-month suspended sentence and fined $3,600 for inviting an alleged former rapist, Kader Traore, to demonstrate how he had raped women.
M’Bella – who had been set to host Miss Ivory Coast on Saturday – reportedly laughed and joked as he helped Traore lay a mannequin on the floor and re-enact his assaults, leading to 50,000 people signing a petition for his dismissal.
Traore has been jailed for two years and fined $900.
