Security operatives burnt down a hotel, a residential house belonging to the owner of the hotel and about 15 shops in Orlu, Imo State, on Sunday.
The security agents were said to have stormed Okporo and Obor communities in about 15 vehicles, including an Armoured Personnel Carrier. Residents told journalists that the security agents made sure the hotel, Ezeacho hotel, was completely burnt down before they left.
It was gathered that two persons were killed during the operation, while some guests were arrested. The hotelier’s country home in Obor community was also burnt.
The reason for the action could not be ascertained as of the time this report was filed.
