Unknown Gunmen has Attack the facilities of Nigeria Police Headquarters zone 12 located at Ukpo Anambra State.
The gunmen who came in their dozens, where however repel by gallant police officers.
According to sources the gunmen mission was to overrun Zone 13 Headquarters of the Nigerian Police, located at Ukpo, Anambra state.
Zone 13 Police Command Principal Public Relations Officer, Princess Nkiru Nwode praised the courage of the police officers, saying that the Zone is committed to ensuring safety of lives and property at all times.
“The command suffered minimal damage but we successfully repelled the attack, and also recovered some weapons from the fleeing assailants”.
According to our sources the fire in one of the buildings was started by a petrol bomb thrown from a distance by the attackers, and this spread to cars packed in the vicinity.
As at the time of publishing this, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, neither is the motive known.
