Pornhub Deletes Millions of Unverified Video From There Platforms After Being Call Out For Promoting Child Pornography

All videos that weren’t uploaded by official content partners or members of its model program have been deleted.

The numbers are still changing, but the #purge could apply to more than half of the 13.5 million videos that were live on Saturday night.⁣⁣

‘As part of our policy to ban unverified uploaders, we have now also suspended all previously uploaded content that was not created by content partners or members of the Model Program,’ said Pornhub’s announcement.

‘This means every piece of Pornhub content is from verified uploaders, a requirement that platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat, and Twitter have yet to institute.

’⁣⁣The videos have been removed pending verification and review – a process that will begin in January.

⁣⁣The move comes after Pornhub, and the porn industry as a whole, was struck when a New York Times article revealed the extent of – and damage caused by – child abuse videos hosted on the site.⁣⁣

The backlash is potentially fatal. Mastercard and #Visa have both announced that they have stopped processing payments with the site.

Visa’s withdrawal includes the entire #MindGeek network, which features not only Pornhub, but also other adult sites including Redtube, YouPorn, Xtube, and Brazzers
