The Rivers State Government says it has received intelligence report that a faction of the APC that is loyal to the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi wants to exploit the planned protest in Port Harcourt this morning to cause the destruction of lives and property in the State.
Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Paulinus Nsirim said in a statement that “the recruited protesters who would be carrying placards with inscriptions like EndSARS, and End Unemployment have been fully mobilized to cause the planned mayhem”.
The statement urged President Muhammadu Buhari to call the Minister to order.
It also called on Security Agencies to be aware of the alleged plot to hijack the protest. The APC faction loyal to Amaechi has not responded to this allegation
